About The Position

Brookfield Renewable Energy Group is seeking a Planner Maintenance to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance tasks are entered into the Maintenance Management program, creating and managing work orders, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes. The Planner Maintenance will also manage maintenance and repair projects, develop station outage plans, assist in budget development, and create safety, environmental, operational, and maintenance procedures. Additionally, the role involves leading reliability improvement efforts, planning and coordinating NERC testing, and being available to respond to calls during power system disruptions. The position may also require filling in for the Manager, Operations as needed.

  • Prior experience using an electronic maintenance management system (IFS, Maximo, SAP, etc.)
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license – traveling required.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of four years of experience in the maintenance of power station and equipment maintenance (including transmission, distribution and generation systems),
  • Minimum associates degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Bachelor degree in engineering is a plus,
  • Working knowledge of hydropower turbine/generator systems and related equipment, standards, codes and regulations,
  • Experience with reading (and working from) drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics,
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn additional software related to the ordering of parts and materials,
  • Knowledge of related industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA and knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and Safety/Environmental rules and regulations;
  • Ability to plan and administer projects and corresponding budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are entered into the Maintenance Management program (IFS);
  • Create work orders, print out preventative maintenance work packages and provide to technicians;
  • Ensure all work packages sent to the field are in compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation and conduct;
  • Close out preventative maintenance work packages when complete;
  • Manage maintenance and repair projects, define scope, send out RFQ’s, select vendor, prepare project safety plans, manage project execution in the field;
  • Develop station outage plans that fall in line with the annual maintenance schedule;
  • Assist the Senior Operations Manager in developing annual budgets by providing upcoming maintenance work scopes and budgetary numbers;
  • Develop safety, environmental, operational, and maintenance procedures to the used in the field;
  • Lead reliability improvement efforts in assigned area, which could include coaching or mentoring field technicians;
  • Plan and coordinate NERC testing and tracking in accordance with compliance program;
  • Be available for, and respond to, calls during power system disruptions to aid in problem solving and supervise repairs.
  • Fill-in for Manager, Operations as need.
