About The Position

Serves in a trainee capacity receiving orientation, instruction and fact finding fundamental to County planning work; and performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent) and appropriate licenses or certificates as required of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Receives orientation and training in the functions of public planning and pertinent research methods and techniques.
  • Under direct supervision, may assist in gathering land use information such as lot size, age of structure, tax valuation, infrastructure requirements concerning public utilities, street conditions, etc.
  • Extracts and compiles, or verifies designated information from journals, reports, and other resource documents.
  • Assists in the tabulation of data involving the use of statistical concepts and formulae.
  • May assist in the review and analysis of plans, recommendations by other governmental agencies, and/or aspects of development, preservation, or implementation of long and/or short-range program plans.
  • May assist in analyzing and reporting the findings of processed data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
