About The Position

The Town of Johnstown, Colorado is actively recruiting a Planner I to be part of their dynamic and passionate team. The Planning department faces challenges such as implementing a new Comprehensive Plan, managing fast-paced development, and updating processes and systems. This role is for a candidate who offers energy, a desire to build a career in public sector planning, and enjoys working with people to develop trusting business relationships. In this high-energy, high-production environment, a candidate must be eager to learn, grow as a professional and a planner. As a member of the Planning team, the Planner I performs a wide variety of municipal planning and project management functions, including land use planning, research, administration associated with development review, answers incoming daily planning questions from the public over the phone, and completes ancillary land use and development review and support functions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in urban/regional planning or a closely-related field
Experience in municipal planning or consultant work performing land-use planning or similar discipline
Face-to-face customer service experience
GIS and/or development review experience
