About The Position

Prisma, a one-of-a-kind company dedicated to helping businesses power their message to market through marketing, print and direct response, has an opening for a planner, also performing some estimating duties. The role involves reviewing and processing production tickets, producing layouts, purchasing materials and vendor services, and communicating with various departments to ensure accurate and efficient project planning and execution. The planner will also be responsible for producing revised estimates and determining the most efficient manufacturing methods for complex projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years on the job work experience at a print production company or a Bachelor’s degree
• Skills in Excel, Word, Internet, and print MIS
• Attention to detail, administrative proficiency and excellent customer service skills
• Solid mathematical skills
• Dedication to learning new systems or additional equipment

Nice To Haves

• Build a solid knowledge of the print industry's production machinery and vendor capabilities

Responsibilities

• Review and process production tickets for digital and split print projects.
• Produce layouts for the Prepress department using Metrix software program.
• Purchase paper, cutting/foil/embossing dies and outside vendor services.
• Communicate with production managers to plan projects accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate with account managers for any issues with production schedules, paper availability and any outside vendor schedules that may affect the delivery date of a print project.
• Produce revised estimates (P-estimates) for equipment or materials changes on projects in our MIS system, Pace.
• Work in a fast-paced team environment and communicate effectively with other team members and departments.
• Determine the most efficient manner to manufacture complex projects, including revising production notes.
• Obtain the most competitive pricing available for materials and services, and purchase materials.
