About The Position

Rio Tinto is seeking a Planner for a permanent, full-time position within the asset management team. The role involves planning and scheduling maintenance work, considering Safety, Health, and Environment (SSE), contractual, and financial aspects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and tackle challenging projects. Reporting to the Asset Management Coordinator, your responsibilities will include applying SSE principles to the equipment maintenance program, conducting site visits to determine work scope, estimating labor, materials, and services, preparing work packages, procuring materials, and booking services. You will also manage the weekly work backlog based on priorities, schedule work optimally, and organize/lead weekly pre-scheduling and scheduling meetings.

Requirements

  • A commitment to your safety and that of your team.
  • DEC in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent training.
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or in technical support.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Lean Six-Sigma skills (DMAIC, Kaizen, SMED, 5S, continuous improvement, etc.).
