About The Position

A Pala Lead supervises the production of Roman-style Pizza alla Pala, Focaccia, and other Bakery items in a single Eataly location’s baking facility. Reports to the Head Chef and Sous Chef Managers. Supervises and directs the bakery/pizza production staff at the direction of the Head Chef. Assists the Head Chef and Sous Chef Managers with leading, training and developing team members. Prepares pizza, focaccia, and other bakery items according to specific recipes. Manage the stock of raw materials, place orders, and take care of the inventory of the department. Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards. Works towards mastering all shifts in pizza and bakery production. Assists Sales Associates if needed and engages with guests interested in learning about pizza, focaccia, and other bakery products. Ensures a clean and sanitary food production area. Performs cashier duties including processing returns, voids and exchanges when necessary. Documents, investigates, elevates and resolves employee and guest incidents. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in a back of house production position
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience
  • Good work ethic, communication and time management skills
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible, open schedule often including evenings and weekends, as well as occasional early-morning/overnight shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for at least 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
