About The Position

The Receiving PIT Operator is responsible for moving and storing material within the distribution center using a reach truck, sit-down forklift, and pacer. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. The operator helps maintain inventory and fulfill orders accurately and on time, while following warehouse safety procedures and keeping the work area clean and organized. The role may also assist with picking, packing, inventory counts, and preparing merchandise for shipment, along with other assigned duties.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of PIT experience operating a sit-down forklift, reach truck, and pacer in a warehouse environment.
• Previous experience using a warehouse scan gun.
• Basic knowledge of warehouse organization procedures.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise items.
• Flexible schedule, including ability to work weekends as needed.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading orders and completing accurate documentation.
• Ability to adhere to safety requirements and maintain a safety-first mindset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and squat most of the time; perform repetitive pushing and pulling with hands most of the time; frequently carry up to 25 lbs.; and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

• Warehouse management system (WMS) experience.

Responsibilities

• Lift, stack, pull, and replenish products from shelves at various heights and weights throughout the shift.
• Transport materials safely through the warehouse or distribution center using a sit-down forklift, reach truck, and pacer.
• Maneuver equipment through narrow aisles and around obstacles, and place materials according to the storage plan or designated locations.
• Follow safety protocols, including guidelines for speed limits, load capacities, and pedestrian traffic; wear required PPE and conduct equipment inspections before and after operation.
• Notify management of unsafe working conditions, damaged products, or improper procedures.
• Collaborate with management and warehouse team members to maintain inventory levels and fulfill orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by sweeping and mopping floors, removing debris and clutter, and disposing of packaging materials properly.
• Occasionally assist with picking and packing orders, conducting inventory counts, and preparing merchandise for shipment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
