About The Position
The pipewelder welds together piping metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders or oral instructions. The pipewelder utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.
Requirements
- Knowledge of pipe welding procedures
- Knowledge of safety requirements
- Vocational training in pipewelding or prior pipewelding experience
- ABS (American Bureau of Ship Building) certification (required in some cases)

- Prior pipewelding experience
Responsibilities
- Weld up prefabricated piping components using various welding procedures as outlined in blueprints or specifications.
- Chips off excess weld, slag and splatter using a power grinder, chipping gun or manual hammer.
