Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. Air Liquide is hiring for a Pipeline Project Manager in Pasadena, TX. Within a Center, is responsible for all engineering activities in Project Engineering for specific projects in accordance with contractual requirements (design, budgeted hours, schedule etc.) by leading a team of Project Engineers and by coordinating with other departments and - if needed - external partners / subcontractors

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree required.
  • Good technical background and Construction Experiences.
  • 7+ years or longer experiences in Engineering including at least 1 year with Air Liquide Technology engineering (partly fabrication, or development experience can be counted as equivalent engineering year).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • Industrial gas experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the level of competencies and capabilities (tools, procedures, organization, hiring & onboarding, training, technical career development and level of resources) of the discipline in the center.
  • Ensure the delivery of engineering deliverables to the projects by allocating the resources, monitoring their performance and coordinating with other disciplines
  • Lead / Define the organization of the discipline, processes and methods and ensures their implementation ; ensure compliance to Quality Process & Manuals and that Company procedures are correctly implemented ; Optimizes engineering practices, workflows and procedures based on collected KPIs
  • Manage workload situations (e.g. training, overtime, peak & low level of activities) in order to maintain a proper Productivity ratio and Employees Work Life balance
  • Contribute to Project Execution - according to complexity and size : Is responsible for final review of man/hours, MTO quantities and possibly cost estimate on proposals, Discipline Engineers support, close out, lessons learned and project reporting activity
  • Define orientations, objectives and budget of the department (Man Hours, cost center budget planning...)
  • May represent the discipline towards management, clients, vendors, subcontractors and projects
  • Identify and qualify new vendors and new subcontractors
