About The Position

Assist skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and work in other crafts at a level appropriate to training and skills, as requested by project supervision. The position requires the ability to take direction from a higher-skilled worker or foreman. This is a safety-sensitive role involving physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions, with shifts of up to 12 hours. The job description may change and may include other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with safety standards and procedures.
• Be able to work up to a 12-hour shift performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.

Nice To Haves

• NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Preferred industrial or commercial construction experience: one year for Level I, two years for Level II, and three or more years for Level III.

Responsibilities

• Use effective math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Eliminate waste, including waiting, rework, unnecessary transporting, material storage, and time.
• Ask a supervisor before continuing if unsure about any aspect of the work or safe practices.
• Learn and understand safety hazards related to the work.
• Learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.
• Look for opportunities to improve tasks, means, and methods, and be willing to learn from others.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
