About The Position

Perform pipefitting job assignments according to MTech Mechanical safety standards and guidelines, and within budgetary constraints. This position is a field-based role that may require travel outside of Eagle, CO to areas such as Vail, Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Rifle, and Grand Junction. Team members may be exposed to various weather elements, including cold and hot temperatures, and may be required to work at heights.

Requirements

  • 4-year apprenticeship certificate or 4 years of field experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of pipefitting, construction practice, and safety procedures.
  • Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
  • Must possess and maintain licenses required in the jurisdictions where work is performed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all requirements of a 4-year Apprentice.
  • Possess knowledge of all tools, equipment, and skills necessary for the complete installation of projects common to the HVAC/piping industry.
  • Direct the activities of field crew members in accordance with job schedules and priorities.
  • Submit daily job progress reports to supervisors.
  • Order stock or fabricated materials in advance to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain physical jobsite organization and housekeeping to ensure a safe professional work area.
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of company equipment and monitor rented equipment.
  • Accurately account for labor hours, material sheets, and change orders.
  • Provide instruction and on-the-job training to apprentices/crew members, emphasizing safety.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licensing/certification for performing work where required.
  • Maintain knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards, and ensure necessary inspections are made.
  • Support total quality efforts and identify/respond to customer needs.
  • Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy.
  • Promote MTech business values and culture.
  • Promote proper use of company assets.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the Piping Department.
