About The Position
The Pipefitter Helper assists pipefitters and pipe fabricators with laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The systems serve steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing applications. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of experience in an industrial setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, and benders.
- Cut or drill holes in walls to permit the passage of pipes, using a pneumatic drill.
- Select the specific type and size of pipe.
- Mount pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe.
- Assist pipefitters with installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
- May disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
