About The Position

The Pipefitter Helper assists pipefitters and pipe fabricators with laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. These systems may serve steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing applications. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• No minimum education requirements.
• Six or more months of experience in an industrial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, and benders.
• Cut or drill holes in walls to allow pipes to pass through, using a pneumatic drill.
• Select the specified type and size of pipe.
• Mount pipe hangers and brackets to support pipe.
• Assist pipefitters with installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties.
