About The Position

This is an apprentice position responsible for assisting journeyman pipefitters in various aspects of pipefitting, including demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and installation of equipment, supports, and pipe. The role involves learning and applying knowledge of piping systems, reading technical drawings, and adhering to industry codes and safety regulations. The apprentice will also be responsible for maintaining tools, ensuring a safe work environment, and may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous construction experience
OSHA 10 preferred
Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
Must have personal hand tools
May be required to register with the appropriate apprenticeship board as a carpenter apprentice pipefitter
May be required to take specialty training

Responsibilities

Perform daily Pre-Task Planning of work in the field.
Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and/or installation of equipment, supports, and pipe on site.
Communicate clearly verbally, digitally, and in writing.
Follow all safety rules and regulations.
Proactively receive mentoring from a journeyman pipefitter or Supervisors.
Learn and apply knowledge of layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems.
Learn to make and read isometric drawings.
Learn to read construction plans and shop drawings for pipe systems.
Learn to inspect and test piping systems.
Learn and apply knowledge of piping industry codes.
Secure and maintain basic tools and perform all tasks to standard.
Maintain an alcohol and drug-free work environment.
Report all injuries to safety personnel and foreman immediately.
Other duties as assigned.
