About The Position

The Pipefitter Apprentice assists experienced pipefitters with the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems in accordance with project specifications and blueprints. The role supports daily job site operations by preparing work areas, organizing materials and equipment, and performing basic pipefitting tasks under supervision. The apprentice maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows safety procedures, properly maintains tools and equipment, and assists with project documentation. The position provides hands-on training and practical experience to develop skills and knowledge for a career in pipefitting.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of construction practices and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of various pipefitting techniques and tools.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects.
• Ability to work in varying heat and cold and in noise levels at or above 90 decibels.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pipefitters with the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems according to specifications and blueprints.
• Transport and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site, ensuring they are readily available.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning and organizing spaces, removing debris, and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Perform basic pipefitting tasks under supervision, including cutting, threading, and assembling pipes.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety meetings.
• Clean, maintain, and properly store tools and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and issues encountered during projects.
