About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated Pipe Welder to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and weld piping, piping systems, equipment, and commercial systems. The role involves working with carbon steel and stainless steel pipe and fittings and using knowledge of welding materials, metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques to select equipment and methods. The work may take place at multiple job sites and in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, confined spaces, and elevated locations. The role has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience with TIG and Stick pipe welding using techniques and equipment including electric, gas, or arc welding, or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to complete additional background checks, such as DMV or criminal history checks.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for long periods, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, working aloft, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to correctly identify colors on color-coded cables or wires and to use close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and weld piping, piping systems, equipment, and commercial systems.
• Recognize the properties of various welding rods and fluxes used to weld metals.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal pipe and pipe fittings, including carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Remove slag and rough spots using a portable grinder, file, or scraper.
• Determine required equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Report to multiple job sites as assigned.
