About The Position

This position is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass 6G Welding test
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of different piping systems and material
Proven ability to perform high-quality welds in either GTAW (Tig) and/or SMAW (stick) welding processes in various positions up to and including 6G

Responsibilities

Installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems that carry various substances like steam, water, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings.
Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and industrial standards.
Familiarity with a wide range of pipe materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum.
Use various tools and equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, torches, and cutting systems.
Follow established Weld Procedure Specifications and equipment setup within parameters for amperage, voltage, gas flow to cover multiple material types and wall thicknesses.
Fabricate pipe spools and components as per project requirements using various welding and fitting techniques.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications to plan the layout of piping systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
Test piping systems for leaks using methods like hydrostatic testing or air pressure tests.
Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes.
Lead and instruct mechanical piping helpers, mechanics, and fitters.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
Other tasks as assigned.
