About The Position

At Dearing Compressor & Pump, Pipe Welders join a collaborative, people-first workplace focused on growth and impact. The role involves laying out and welding pipe, using a single process or a combination of SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW according to specified weld procedures. The position also includes preparing materials, interpreting blueprints, inspecting welds, and handling workpieces and related equipment.

Requirements

• One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or related experience and training.
• 6G certification from prior employment.
• 2–5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Knowledge of the GMAW STT (surface tension transfer) process.
• Knowledge of SMAW 6010 downhill welding.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints before starting a project.
• Measure and cut materials to specifications.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
• Clean weld joints or workpieces.
• Operate overhead cranes.
• Rig workpieces.
• Cut pipe to length using an oxy-fuel torch or saw.
• Operate a mechanical beveler.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
