About The Position

This position involves welding pipe spools under the direction of a foreman. The welder will interpret weld maps and procedures, identify material types, and perform welding tasks. The job is located at the pipe fab shop in Port Allen, LA.

Requirements

Must be able to weld TIG/Stick and TIG/Fluxcore.
Must pass the welding tests.
Must pass required welding test(s) in a 6G position, GTAW, GTAW/SMAW, GTAW/FCAW, GMAW.
Must be familiar with weld map, weld procedure, weld process numbers, filler metal selection guide, preheat & welding symbols, material color codes, weld wire color codes.
Pre-employment qualification test if applicable & required Welding tests.
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
Hazard Communication orientation/test.
Turner Industries Group Indoctrination.
OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
Job site orientation.
Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc).
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.

Nice To Haves

Preferably one (2) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill.

Responsibilities

Interpret weld maps and weld procedures.
Identify material types.
Weld pipe spools.
Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift.
Pass required welding tests in a 6G position, GTAW, GTAW/SMAW, GTAW/FCAW, GMAW.
Be familiar with weld map, weld procedure, weld process numbers, filler metal selection guide, preheat & welding symbols, material color codes, weld wire color codes.
Grind tacks with pneumatic grinders.
Be aware of surroundings.
Assist in setting up and taking down pipe spools.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
