About The Position

We are currently taking applications/resumes for EXPERIENCED Pipe Layers for the Thibodaux, LA and surrounding areas. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not include the following: Job Scope: Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue.

Requirements

MUST have CONSTRUCTION background (1 Year Minimum)
Ability to operate laser/pipe level
Ability to understand slope
Ability to set boxes
Ability to set mason boxes
Detailed knowledge of construction and pipe fitting techniques.
Knowledge of sewer systems, storm drains, and water mains.
Experience with machine-operated trenching tools
Grouting experience is a plus
Experience with checking grade
Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
Must have good endurance
Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform task
Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
Driver's License/Identification
Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
Must be able to pass drug screen.
Must have reliable transportation (Will be required to travel up to a 60 mile radius)

Responsibilities

Digging/Grading trenches to lay pipe in
Laying sections of pipe & completing connections between pipe sections
Completing welds on sections of metal pipe where metal piping is specified
Making connections to lines including sewer lines, water lines, & storm sewers.
Ability to coordinate with pipe crews while working inside trench or trench boxes.
Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools.
Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
Install or repair sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems
Locate existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators.
Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints.
Install or use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels.
Coordinate with operators to ensure PVC or RCP is properly connected and set to grade.
Understand safety precautions associated with working in trenches and trench boxes.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
