About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated Pipe Fitter Helper to assist pipe fitters with assembling and installing hydronic commercial piping systems. The role involves supporting installation and maintenance work at assigned job sites, following instructions, and performing related duties as assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and may require travel, typically without overnight stays.

Work may take place indoors or outdoors in varying temperatures and inclement weather, with possible exposure to moderate or high noise, fumes, airborne particles, confined spaces, and heights. The role routinely uses construction equipment, heavy machinery, hand tools, and power tools. Employees may need to work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, and stand or walk for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• At least six months of pipe fitting helper experience and/or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Able to multitask, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, pay attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Must be available and have the means to report to multiple assigned job sites, including on varying schedules.
• Comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to correctly identify all colors of color-coded cables or wires and demonstrate close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior military experience.

Responsibilities

• Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to support pipe.
• Assist pipe fitters with installing valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe as needed.
• Cut and grind pipe.
• Assist maintenance personnel with changing hubs and rollers.
• Follow specific directions and perform a variety of assigned duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
