About The Position

The Pick-Up & Delivery Attendant is responsible for safely and professionally transporting customer vehicles between the dealership and approved customer locations. This position plays an important role in the overall customer experience and serves as a direct representative of the dealership. The Pick-Up & Delivery Attendant is expected to provide courteous customer service, properly inspect vehicles before and after transportation, maintain accurate records, and protect customer vehicles and property while they are in the dealership's care.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Previous dealership, automotive, delivery, or customer-service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and deliver customer vehicles according to the schedule provided by the Service Department.
  • Arrive at customer locations on time and provide professional, courteous service.
  • Verify the customer's name, vehicle, keys, and requested service information before transporting the vehicle.
  • Communicate with the assigned Service Advisor regarding delays, customer concerns, or changes to the schedule.
  • Deliver completed vehicles to customers in a clean and professional manner.
  • Obtain required signatures or confirmations for vehicle pick-up and delivery.
  • Perform a visual walk-around inspection of the vehicle before taking possession.
  • Document existing damage, unusual conditions, or concerns according to dealership procedures.
  • Verify vehicle mileage and other required information.
  • Notify the Service Advisor or Service Manager immediately of any new damage or condition discovered.
  • Treat all customer vehicles as if they were the employee's own property.
  • Keep customer vehicles clean and free from unnecessary personal items or debris.
  • Follow dealership procedures for vehicle keys and security.
  • Operate customer and dealership vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
  • Wear a seat belt at all times.
  • Obey dealership speed limits and driving policies.
  • Never use a customer vehicle for personal purposes.
  • Never allow unauthorized passengers in a customer vehicle.
  • Never smoke or use tobacco products in a customer vehicle.
  • Do not use a cell phone while driving except as permitted by law and dealership policy.
  • Immediately report any accident, traffic violation, vehicle damage, or safety concern to management.
  • Move customer vehicles safely throughout the dealership property.
  • Park vehicles in designated areas.
  • Assist with vehicle staging and organization within the Service Department.
  • Assist with fueling, washing, charging, or other basic vehicle preparation as directed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of dealership transportation vehicles.
  • Assist Service Advisors and other Service Department personnel as needed when not performing scheduled pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Treat every customer with courtesy and respect.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Be punctual and dependable.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Protect customer privacy and personal information.
  • Avoid discussing repairs, pricing, or other dealership matters beyond their role.
  • Direct technical, repair, pricing, or warranty questions to the appropriate Service Advisor.
  • Immediately communicate customer complaints or concerns to the Service Advisor or Service Manager.
  • Stop and secure the vehicle when it is safe to do so.
  • Notify the Service Manager or designated manager as soon as possible.
  • Complete any required dealership accident or incident documentation.
  • Provide an accurate description of what occurred.
  • Cooperate with the dealership's investigation and insurance procedures.
  • Never attempt to conceal, repair, or otherwise alter evidence of damage or an accident without management authorization.
