About The Position

The Pick & Prep Chef prepares Pick & Prep products and provides preparation services that create a sensory and engaging experience for guests while operating at or above company standards. The role actively engages guests through product preparation, sampling, suggestive selling, product storytelling, and knife demonstrations. It also maintains product quality, sanitation, safety, merchandising, and operational standards in the Pick & Prep area.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality and willingness to actively engage guests and have fun with them.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of Pick & Prep operations.
Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements, including knife skills.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with and take direction from supervisors.
Ability to work with computers and scales.

Responsibilities

Engage guests through product preparation, active sampling, and suggestive selling.
Provide superior guest service, including telling product stories and highlighting benefits such as freshness, health, seasonality, and local sourcing.
Demonstrate knife skills to showcase Pick & Prep services and offerings.
Operate the Pick & Prep area according to merchandising and operational standards.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain department sanitation and safety according to Lowes Foods standards.
Prepare, receive, order, stock, and merchandise products, and provide guest service as needed to achieve standards.
Make public address announcements.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
