About The Position

The PICC RN/Vascular Access Specialist provides expert vascular access services to patients at client facilities. The role follows the guidelines of the state where the employee is licensed and the company’s guidelines, maintaining a high level of professionalism and skill. The job operates in a variety of healthcare facilities and may involve substantial driving between client locations.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the state where the employee is working.
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications.
• Completed vascular access competency skills checklist.
• Communication proficiency.
• Personal effectiveness and credibility.
• Patient/client focus.

Responsibilities

• Insert peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) at the bedside.
• Insert midlines and extended dwell catheters at the bedside.
• Insert peripheral IV catheters at the bedside.
• Establish access via intravascular ports.
• Examine, assess, and evaluate patients with vascular access devices.
• Educate patients and family members about procedures and answer their questions.
• Educate staff when necessary.
• Document completed procedures in accordance with client and company policies.
