Piano Teacher (Store #7337)
About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking a piano teacher to teach and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment; builds positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates; partners with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention; and shares musical expertise to foster student growth. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The role offers a non-teaching rate of $17.00 per hour and a teaching rate of $12–$24 per hour, depending on background and experience. Eligible musician employees may take gig leave to perform or tour and return to their jobs afterward.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of music teaching experience, especially on piano.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience with voice or a related instrument.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
- Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
- Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
