About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking a music educator to teach piano lessons and inspire students of varying ages and skill levels. The teacher will create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment, build positive relationships with students and parents, and work with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching and student growth. The position lists a non-teaching rate of $15.92 per hour and a teaching rate of $11–$22 per hour, depending on background and experience. Musician employees may take gig leave to perform on tour and return to their jobs afterward.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience, especially on piano; further teaching experience on related instruments is a plus.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments: banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.
