About The Position

Altum Health, a department within the University Health Network, is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join their Ajax team. This role involves supporting clients through their recovery by treating orthopedic disorders, chronic pain, and facilitating the rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers. The position offers opportunities for clinical learning and teaching moments, with a focus on client-centered services that address physical, psychosocial, and behavioral issues. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to help clients reach their full functional and work reintegration potential, and may perform cross-functional and cross-site duties. Altum Health is committed to outcomes data collection, continuous quality improvement, and the education of health professionals.

Requirements

  • A Physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • A minimum of (1) one year related experience in the treatment of clients/patients with work-related injuries, MVA and/or experience in the third-party health care system
  • Strong FAE and Return to Work planning skills is preferred but not required to be successful
  • Adhere to confidentiality requirements
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent judgement and prioritizing skills
  • Understand the detail required for insurance reporting and who is not deterred by mandatory processes
  • Experience in case management and communication with third-party/referral services desirable
  • Passionate and dedicated team player who can work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Committed to the challenge of working with clients suffering from acute and chronic workplace injuries
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide group education sessions and lead small group learning

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or previous experience in hand therapy would be an asset.
  • WorkWell certification preferred but not essential
  • Experience with report writing is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Empower and support clients through their recovery with the application of hands-on knowledge, skills and abilities in the treatment of orthopedic disorders, chronic pain and with the rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers.
  • Treat clients and enable them to reach their fully functional and work reintegration potential in collaboration with all stakeholders (client, treatment team and etc.).
  • Perform cross-functional duties and cross-site duties, as assigned or requested.
  • Provide group education sessions and lead small group learning.
