About The Position

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our team at Sidney Care Home, located in beautiful Sidney, B.C. As our Physiotherapist, you’ll assess and treat residents with a variety of physical needs, promoting mobility, independence, and overall well-being. You’ll also help enhance residents' quality of life through education, programming, and compassionate, person-centered care. Sidney Care Home provides care to 54 residents in a cozy, recently renovated space. Located in sunny Sidney on Vancouver Island, our care home offers a warm atmosphere, tasteful décor, and a strong sense of community. We work in close partnership with the Vancouver Island Health Authority to provide exceptional care and support.

Requirements

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of BC
  • New graduates are welcome—we value fresh perspectives!
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, respectful, and able to uphold the dignity of residents
  • Committed to working with residents with dementia
  • Able to work independently while also guiding team members
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development
  • Physically and mentally capable of performing all duties

Responsibilities

  • Conducting mobility, gait, and transfer assessments
  • Providing pain management strategies
  • Leading post-fall assessments and care planning
  • Developing and implementing exercise programs
  • Supervising and supporting Rehabilitation Assistants
  • Initiating and maintaining walking programs
  • Working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care outcomes
