About The Position

Altum Health, a department within the University Health Network, is seeking an experienced Chiropractor or Physiotherapist to join their Oshawa team. This role involves supporting clients with complex and challenging cases, focusing on the treatment of orthopedic disorders, chronic pain, and the rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers. The position offers daily clinical learning opportunities and teaching moments within a collaborative team environment. The successful candidate will empower and support clients through their recovery, enabling them to reach their fully functional and work reintegration potential in collaboration with all stakeholders. Cross-functional and cross-site duties may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • A Physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Completion of a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree
  • Registration with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario required
  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience in the treatment of clients/patients with work-related injuries, MVA and/or experience in the third-party health care system
  • A strong evidenced based, rehabilitation orientation required
  • A Clinician who can adhere to confidentiality requirements, can demonstrate initiative, and with excellent judgement and prioritizing skills
  • A Clinician who understands the detail required for insurance reporting and who is not deterred by mandatory processes
  • A passionate and dedicated team player who can work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team and who is committed to the challenge of working with clients suffering from acute and chronic workplace injuries
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or previous experience in hand therapy would be an asset.
  • Strong FAE and Return to Work planning skills is preferred but not required to be successful (for Physiotherapist).
  • Strong FAE and Return to Work planning skills (desired but not essential) (for Chiropractor).
  • Experience in case management and communication with third-party/referral services desirable.
  • WorkWell certification preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with report writing is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Empower and support clients through their recovery with the application of hands-on knowledge, skills and abilities in the treatment of orthopedic disorders, chronic pain and with the rehabilitation and return to work of injured workers.
  • Treat clients and enable them to reach their fully functional and work reintegration potential in collaboration with all stakeholders (client, treatment team and etc.).
  • Perform cross-functional duties and cross-site duties, as assigned or requested.
  • Provide group education sessions and lead small group learning.
