Under general supervision, but according to established procedures, performs a variety of physical tests such as Electrocardiograph, Graded Exercise Stress Test and Holter Monitors/ Event Monitors in order to assist physicians in the determination and diagnosis of disease or dysfunction. Responsible for the performance of physiology tests; conducts progressively more complex tests as departmental experience accumulates. Performs duties associated with tests, i.e. attaches electrodes, prepares graphs, performs calculations, monitors heart rate, etc. Greets and prepares patients for tests. Interacts with patients in a courteous manner; explains treatment purpose and equipment function and otherwise alleviates patient's anxiety. Reviews test results on a preliminary basis to determine need for immediate interpretation by physicians; delivers results to referring physician when necessary. Performs a variety of related duties such as changing linens, ordering supplies, filing and so on.
