About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Oncology seek a Malignant Hematologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, West Virginia. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites. The WVU Cancer Institute at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center in Morgantown is expanding its malignant hematology and transplant/cellular therapy services as part of a statewide strategy to enhance access to advanced cancer care. This position offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team focused on the diagnosis and treatment of leukemias, lymphomas, myeloma, and related disorders, with access to autologous and allogeneic transplant, CAR-T therapy, and clinical trials. The successful candidate will have the ability to shape program growth and contribute to academic, clinical, and translational initiatives in a nationally recognized cancer center. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed an Internal Medicine Residency program.
  • Completed a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program.
  • Board certified / eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Hematology/Oncology.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
