About The Position

FAMILYCARE HEALTH CENTERS is seeking a Physician to join their team. They are a nationally recognized FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) operating over 21 locations in four counties: Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, and Boone. Requirements

  • Valid license to practice medicine or osteopathy in West Virginia.
  • Current DEA certificate.
  • Board certified or board eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full range of ambulatory primary care services, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, preventive care, minor surgical procedures, and occasional medical emergencies.
  • Manage all patients and conditions within the scope of training and approved privileges.
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive primary health care services.
  • Perform assessments, including comprehensive physical exams and age-appropriate screening procedures.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, including waived and microscopy laboratory testing.
  • Formulate diagnoses and develop treatment plans, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
  • Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care.
  • Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of patient status.
  • Complete all appropriate documentation in a timely manner according to FAMILYCARE policy.
  • Consult with, collaborate with, or refer to other medical providers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses on staff.
  • Share after-hours telephone coverage with other medical providers.
  • Participate in research, educational activities, and the teaching of students, if interested.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  • Attend clinical and staff meetings.
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.
  • Observe all health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
  • Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
  • Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
  • Perform any other tasks within their abilities as directed by the Clinical Director or Chief Executive Officer.
