About The Position
FamilyCare Health Centers is seeking a Physician to join their team. This is a full-time position within a nationally recognized FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) that operates over 21 locations across four counties. FamilyCare is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to foster healthy communities. The role involves providing the full spectrum of ambulatory primary care services, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, performing preventive care, minor surgical procedures, and managing medical emergencies within the scope of the physician's training and approved privileges.
Requirements
- Valid license to practice medicine or osteopathy in West Virginia
- Current DEA certificate
- Board certified or Board eligible
Responsibilities
- Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive primary health care services.
- Perform assessment, including comprehensive physical exam and age-appropriate screening procedures.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
- Perform waived and microscopy laboratory testing as indicated.
- Formulate diagnosis and develop treatment plan, including ordering and/or administering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Facilitate patient education and participation in self-care.
- Implement systematic follow-up and evaluation of patient status.
- Complete all appropriate documentation in a timely manner according to FamilyCare policy.
- Consult with, collaborate with or refer to other medical providers as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses on staff.
- Share after-hours telephone coverage with other Medical providers.
- Participate in research, educational activities and the teaching of students, if interested.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
- Attend clinical and staff meetings.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned.
- Observe all health and safety requirements.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Participate in the continuous quality improvement activities of the organization.
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform any other tasks within their abilities as directed by the Clinical Director or Chief Executive Officer.
