The Physician will conduct a program of primary medical care, providing examination, diagnosis, and treatment for CVHS patients. This role involves providing medical treatment and advice, obtaining patient medical history, and interpreting diagnostic tests. The physician will diagnose ailments, perform necessary treatments including minor surgical procedures, and manage follow-up care. Referrals to specialists will be made when necessary. The position also includes prescribing or dispensing medication, seeking consultation from senior physicians, and providing medical supervision to assigned health professionals. Participation in peer review and quality assurance programs is expected. The physician will lead and support clinical staff in a team-based, patient-centered medical practice model, ensuring all health professionals function according to their standards. Adherence to CVHS Bylaws and Principles of Practice, maintaining high personal and professional standards, and engaging in continuing professional education are crucial. The role requires providing after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage, which may involve phone consultations or in-person visits. Timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (eCW), including coding and billing, is essential, along with adherence to CVHS security protocols. Participation in relevant committees and performing other assigned duties by the Clinical Director and/or Regional Medical Officer are also part of the role.
