Locum - Physician - Interventional Cardiology
About The Position
This contract position is for a locum physician specializing in interventional cardiology. The physician will diagnose and treat cardiac conditions using advanced interventional procedures and work collaboratively with the team to provide high-quality patient care. The role is in an inpatient setting with on-call responsibilities and serves adult and geriatric patients. Some rounding duties may be required. Documentation is completed in EPIC. Weekday onsite staffing is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM. Weekday evening on-call coverage is Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM–7:00 AM, and weekend on-call coverage is Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM. STEMI call is aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage. The stated call ratio is 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD). Average inpatient admissions per physician are greater than two daily. No trauma level or designation is specified.
Requirements
- Board certification.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Active Virginia state medical license.
- Clean malpractice history.
- Submit a Self-Query NPDB report.
- Ability to provide the procedures and medical management listed in the posting: balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, PCI, heart catheterization, coronary angiograms, embolic protection, carotid artery stenting, atherectomy, and medical management of vascular disease.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cardiac conditions using interventional procedures.
- Provide high-quality patient care in collaboration with the medical team.
- Provide inpatient and on-call coverage, including STEMI call.
- Perform or provide medical management for the listed procedures and conditions.
- Potentially perform some rounding duties.
