About The Position

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible invasive-interventional cardiologist to join Indiana Heart Physicians in Indianapolis, Indiana. The physician will join a multi-specialty team of 29 cardiologists, two cardiac hospitalists, and 26 advanced practice providers. The role focuses on PCI and peripheral vascular procedures and calls for clinical excellence, strong interpersonal skills, and collaborative delivery of patient care with physicians and staff across the Cardiology service line.

Indiana Heart Physicians has served South and Central Indiana since 1978 and works closely with Franciscan Health to provide patient-centered cardiovascular care. The practice uses state-of-the-art catheterization labs with Philips systems, FlexVision screens, Clarity software, and connections for TEE/CCTA images. Outreach travel is minimal, generally less than one hour from the main campus.

The schedule consists of two weeks per month in clinic, Monday through Friday, and two weeks per month rounding in the hospital, Monday through Friday. STEMI call is one week in six, Friday to Friday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; holiday and weekend call is also one in six. Typical volumes are 15–20 outpatients and 10–15 rounding patients per day, with an average of more than 700 cases per year. Travel is never or rare.

Requirements

• Doctorate required.
• Physician license (DR/DO) required upon hire.
• Board certification in the specialty discipline, or eligibility where appropriate, required upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
• Board-certified or board-eligible cardiologist specializing in invasive-interventional cardiology.
• Passion for PCI and peripheral vascular procedures, clinical excellence, and patient satisfaction.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional cardiology care, including PCI and peripheral vascular procedures.
• Provide clinic care and hospital rounding according to the stated monthly schedule.
• Participate in STEMI, holiday, and weekend call coverage.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff across the Cardiology service line to coordinate and deliver high-quality patient care.
• Develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff.
