About The Position

Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a Full-Time Pulmonary Physician to join our team at Pulmonology Specialists on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The selected physician will provide comprehensive pulmonary care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic respiratory conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (Doctor of Medicine) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine (Pulmonary/Critical Care preferred)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine (and Critical Care Medicine, if applicable)
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia
  • Current DEA registration
  • Eligible for Virginia licensure at time of hire
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred based on practice setting
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based care for patients with pulmonary diseases such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and respiratory infections
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures (e.g., pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy, imaging studies)
  • Manage inpatient pulmonary consultations and coordinate care with hospitalists and critical care teams as needed
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex respiratory conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including primary care, cardiology, oncology, and respiratory therapy
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, prevention, and treatment plans
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to organizational clinical protocols and standards
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
