About The Position

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Requirements

  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.

  • Major responsibility as a Medical Services Provider and Moonlighter is to assure optimum patient care and medical management of patients at Central Regional Hospital.
  • The Medical Service organizes and provides medical services for patients admitted to CRH and Whitaker PRTF.
  • The medical care responsibilities to the patients include emergency, acute, illness, acute injury and chronic medical condition management.
  • The unit also provides employee injury and wellness services through the Employee Health Services department of CRH and non-employee/non patient assessment and stabilization when emergency conditions arise and are recognized on campus of the facilities.
  • Most patients cared for by the CRH Medical Services group are either inpatients or employees of the facilities.
  • On occasion patients may be referred directly to the Medical Services/Medical Psychiatric Unit from other DSOHF facilities.
