About The Position

PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking a licensed Physician to provide on-site medical services within a federally operated correctional healthcare setting at a Correctional Institution in Marion, Illinois 62959. The correctional facility operates comprehensive correctional institutions that provide healthcare services to Adults in Custody (AICs). This role supports the institution’s Health Services Department by delivering direct medical care, conducting evaluations, and managing patient treatment plans within a secure correctional environment.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Physician license
  • Graduate of an accredited medical program
  • Ability to provide proof of education, licensure, certifications, and training
  • Must be free of communicable diseases
  • May be required to provide tuberculosis testing or immunization records
  • Must maintain active licensure throughout the contract period
  • Must complete institution orientation and security training
  • Must comply with all institutional security procedures and Privacy Act requirements
  • Professional attire required (scrubs permitted)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in correctional healthcare, primary care, emergency medicine, or internal medicine preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a secure institutional setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive in-house medical care for the AIC population
  • Perform complete physical examinations and patient assessments
  • Collect detailed medical and social histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing
  • Prescribe treatment plans and medications as appropriate
  • Refer patients to specialists or community hospitals when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation
  • Complete all charting and documentation by the end of each workday
  • Follow all Federal Bureau of Prisons medical policies and institutional procedures
  • Collaborate with Health Services staff, Clinical Directors, and institutional leadership
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and correctional healthcare regulations
  • Maintain professional communication and conduct within a correctional environment
