About The Position

As a Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor and control access points, verify identification and authorization, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document relevant activity according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unusual conditions and reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Support visitor processing, staff entry procedures, and movement control while maintaining professional communication with employees, visitors, and/or members of the public.
