About The Position
MD Staffing Services is seeking a Physician to provide outpatient primary care at the Pottsville Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. This is a great opportunity for a physician who enjoys primary care, wants a consistent weekday schedule, and values the opportunity to care for the men and women who have served our country. You'll work in an outpatient setting where you can get to know your patients, manage their ongoing healthcare needs, and be part of a team focused on providing Veterans with consistent, quality care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Current unrestricted medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to meet Veterans Affairs credentialing and privileging requirements
Nice To Haves
- Primary care experience preferred
- Previous Veterans Affairs, military, or Federal healthcare experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide primary and preventive care to Veterans
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform routine examinations and follow-up visits
- Order and review laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
- Educate Veterans about their health and treatment options
- Coordinate care with specialists and other members of the Veterans Affairs healthcare team
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
