About The Position

The Physician- Whole Health Clinical Director provides leadership for the Whole Health System (WhH) at the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks. The role develops and executes the WhH business plan, prepares the annual budgetary report using quality, activity, and financial data and projections, and leads development and implementation of the system’s performance improvement plan. The director is accountable for resources used directly and indirectly by WhH and supports local, regional, and national expansion of its three pillars: Pathway, Clinical Care, and Well Being. The position includes some direct patient care.

The director builds strategic partnerships with community organizations to promote health and well-being offerings, leads Whole Health System team meetings, collaborates with team members when medical or other problems arise, chairs the WhH Steering Committee, and provides oversight to the three pillars of WhH. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship, except that non-citizens may be appointed when qualified U.S. citizens cannot be recruited in accordance with VA policy.
• A Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine from an appropriately approved or accredited school.
• A current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of qualifying residency training in an accredited core specialty program leading to board-certification eligibility, or an alternative training and independent-practice pathway specified in the announcement.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Satisfy VA pre-employment conditions, including applicable drug screening, background/security investigation, physical evaluation, onboarding, and seasonal influenza vaccination requirements.
• Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959.
• Complete all application requirements detailed in the announcement.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Whole Health System.
• Develop and execute a Whole Health Business Plan for the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks.

• Maintain accountability for resources used directly and indirectly by Whole Health.
• Lead local, regional, and national expansion of the Pathway, Clinical Care, and Well Being pillars of Whole Health.
• Provide some direct patient care.
• Create strategic partnerships with community organizations to promote health and well-being offerings in the community.
• Direct Whole Health System team meetings and collaborate with team members when medical or other problems arise.
• Chair the Whole Health Steering Committee and oversee the three pillars of Whole Health.
