About The Position

The physician is responsible for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the health problems presented by the patients. This role involves developing and cultivating positive and productive working relationships, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, compassion, collaboration, clarity, curiosity, and courage. The physician will demonstrate a commitment to service and distinctive, personalized care, striving to exceed customer expectations. They will assist in meeting operational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals, and ensure timely completion of all specific competencies and annual organizational mandatories. The role requires assessing and monitoring the medical needs of patients, providing quality medical services in a cost-effective and appropriate manner, and ensuring coverage of the caseload at all times. Communication with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and other hospital departments regarding the plan of care and treatment is essential. Medical services must be documented in the patient’s medical record according to hospital, payor, and regulatory standards. The physician will participate in on-call and weekend coverage, value-based reimbursement programs, quality initiatives, Quality Improvement (QI) / Quality Assurance (QA) activities, and peer review as required by the Department. They will also assist in the development of policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care, and participate in ongoing process improvement activities. Support for patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, including assessing clinical safety and efficacy data, is also a key function. Additionally, the physician will provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship to fellows, residents, APPs (e.g., physician assistants and advance practice registered nurses), students, and others providing services to patients, including meaningful participation with affiliated medical schools.

Requirements

  • Doctorate
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
