About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine - Eastern Division and Medical Pulmonary seek a Pulmonologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The Health System has undergone significant expansion in specialty and sub-specialty care in areas such as cancer, heart and vascular, and neuroscience, among many others. The Health System operates West Virginia’s first and only multi-organ transplant center, and opened a new, 150-bed Children’s Hospital in September 2022. Today, the WVU Health System has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by a 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes more than 20 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license and DEA.
  • Completed internal medicine residency program.
  • Completed pulmonary/critical care fellowship program.
  • Board certified / eligible in pulmonary/critical care/sleep.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Sleep fellowship preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of Pulmonology.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
