About The Position

At NorthBay Health the Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Physician provides comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine services, with a strong emphasis on the diagnosis and management of sleep-related disorders in an ambulatory setting. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for adults with pulmonary and sleep conditions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to optimize patient outcomes. This is an outpatient only position with an average daily patient census of 18-20 patients. The physician will have access to state-of-the-art medical equipment and comprehensive resources, and will work within a collaborative team of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care to adult patients.
  • Diagnose and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions including asthma, COPD, chronic cough, interstitial lung disease, and other respiratory disorders.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, hypersomnia, restless leg syndrome, and circadian rhythm disorders.
  • Interpret and manage diagnostic testing including pulmonary function tests (PFTs), home sleep apnea testing (HSAT), polysomnography, and other pulmonary and sleep-related studies.
  • Manage PAP therapy, including CPAP and BiPAP treatment plans and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding pulmonary and sleep conditions, treatment plans, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development activities as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with and supervise APPs to enhance patient care.
