About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a full-time, hospitalist model Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for their inpatient unit in Duluth, MN. This is a 1.0 FTE opportunity with a 14 on / 14 off schedule, with no outpatient clinic requirement. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player. The Behavioral Health Team includes 9 adult and 4 child and adolescent psychiatrists. The average caseload is 12 children, ages 6-18 years, and the unit is supported by a comprehensive team including family therapists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, and behavioral health techs. The facility offers robust programming, overnight call averages 1 in 8 days, and access to immediate hospital medical services. The Amberwing facility provides Partial Hospitalization Programming, state-of-the-art mental health and substance abuse services, On-Site Pediatric Occupational Therapy, and a Birth to Kindergarten Program. Essentia Health Duluth hospital has a 16-bed Child/Adolescent inpatient unit and a 37-bed Adult inpatient unit.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents.
Manage an average caseload of 12 children, ages 6-18 years.
