About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a full-time, hospitalist model Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for their inpatient unit in Duluth, MN. This role offers an opportunity to work a 14 on / 14 off schedule with no outpatient clinic requirement. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player and join a comprehensive behavioral health program with 9 adult and 4 child and adolescent psychiatrists. The inpatient unit has 16 beds for child/adolescent care and 37 beds for adult care. The average caseload is 12 children, ages 6-18 years. The team includes family therapists, social workers, chemical dependency counselors, and behavioral health techs. Overnight call averages 1 in 8 days. Immediate access to hospital medical services, including pediatric hospitalist consultation, full lab, and imaging services, is available. The Amberwing facility offers Partial Hospitalization Programming, state-of-the-art mental health and substance abuse services, on-site pediatric occupational therapy, and a Birth to Kindergarten Program. Essentia Health Duluth is part of a medical campus that includes the NACHRI designated children’s hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents.
