OCHSNER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL is seeking a PRN fellowship-trained DEVELOPMENTAL-BEHAVIORAL PEDIATRICIAN to practice at the Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove in Baton Rouge, LA. In addition to robust clinical skills across the spectrum of developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy, the ideal candidate will be able to work in a collaborative manner with other health professionals and assist with program development. The Michael R. Boh Centers for Child Development in New Orleans, Covington, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette provide independent and interdisciplinary team-based diagnostic developmental-behavioral consultations for infants, children, and adolescents spanning the full spectrum of neurodevelopmental disabilities – from developmental delays/intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and cerebral palsy to learning disorders, ADHD, and motor incoordination – including consultations for those at risk due to prematurity or other neonatal complications, congenital heart disease, genetic syndromes, or adverse psychosocial circumstances. Ochsner Children’s includes over 85 primary care pediatricians and 290+ subspecialists across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi. The region’s leader in complex pediatric care, with advanced programs in congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, hematology-oncology and AYA oncology, advanced GI and hepatology, and a comprehensive surgical subspecialty group, including craniofacial and advanced spine surgery. The Gulf South’s only comprehensive developmental pediatrics center. Facilities include a 67-bed Level IV NICU, 14-bed PICU and 12-bed CVICU, 4-bed NAEC-accredited Level IV Pediatric EMU, 44-bed Pediatric Acute Care Unit with a dedicated Pediatric ED, and a 24/7 neonatal and pediatric transport team with ground, rotary, and fixed-wing aircraft support. Future growth includes construction underway for a new 5-story Children’s Hospital, opening in early 2028 and planned expansion of neonatal services. Ochsner’s Pediatric Resident Program has ten categorical pediatric residents per year. Teaching opportunities are available with medical students from Tulane University and the University of Queensland. Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine is currently in LCME accreditation. Faculty publish hundreds of research papers annually and lead multi-center studies and clinical trials.
