About The Position

Ochsner Children's Hospital is seeking a PRN fellowship-trained Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to practice at the Ochsner Medical Complex – The Grove in Baton Rouge, LA. The ideal candidate will possess robust clinical skills across the spectrum of developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning and intellectual disabilities, and cerebral palsy. Additionally, they should be able to work collaboratively with other health professionals and contribute to program development. The salary offered will be competitive and commensurate with experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent and interdisciplinary team-based diagnostic developmental-behavioral consultations for infants, children, and adolescents spanning the full spectrum of neurodevelopmental disabilities – from developmental delays/intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and cerebral palsy to learning disorders, ADHD, and motor incoordination.
  • Conduct consultations for those at risk due to prematurity or other neonatal complications, congenital heart disease, genetic syndromes, or adverse psychosocial circumstances.
  • Work with the entire Boh Center team (nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, developmental-behavioral pediatricians, psychologists, applied behavior analysts, speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, clinic administrators) to improve access to diagnostic consultation and address gaps in treatment.
  • Participate in the education of Xavier-Ochsner College of Medicine and the University of Queensland-Ochsner Clinical School medical students, Ochsner pediatric residents, and community pediatric professionals.
  • Participate in the development of a fellowship program in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
  • Contribute to clinical research/scholarship and regional (Louisiana AAP) and national (SDBP, AAP) academic organizations under the mentorship of Robert Voigt, MD, System Medical Director of the Boh Centers.
