About The Position

We are seeking a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to deliver expert care at the Intrepid Spirit Center, Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg. You’ll lead long-term, individualized rehab plans across physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, neuropsychology, and social work — and serve as the clinical anchor for an interdisciplinary team. This role involves leading brain-injury rehabilitation for America’s Warfighters, supporting Soldiers and their families recovering from traumatic brain injury and related conditions.

Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
  • Active, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, and a National Provider Identifier (NPI) that can be tied to the Fort Bragg site.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • At least two years of direct patient care experience within the past five years, with privileges in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • U.S. citizenship (or eligibility to work on a federal military installation).
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) for base access.
  • Up-to-date immunizations, TB screening, and health requirements for the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert PM&R evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment, including brain-injury treatment plans.
  • Examine and assess patients, review imaging, and manage comprehensive long-term rehab programs.
  • Prescribe and coordinate physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, neuropsychology, and social work services.
  • Perform and interpret electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity (NCV), and related studies; order prosthetics, orthotics, and rehabilitation equipment.
  • Teach and consult with physicians, therapists, and other team members.
  • Document patient care in MHS Genesis within three business days and respond to patient messages within one business day.
